The story concerns the life and times of David Copperfield, a boy growing into a man in Victorian England. Orphaned at a young age, Copperfield works in the factories of London before running away to seek his only relative, an eccentric aunt in Dover. He eventually grows up, finds love, and finds his place in the world.
